Luke Sooy
Assistant brewer

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE BREWING INDUSTRY?
I received my Dad's old homebrewing equipment and became a homebrewer in college.
WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR LIFE PRE-MAP?
My first job in the industry was as a draft beer technician (line cleaner and draft beer troubleshooter). After that I moved back to Bozeman and started working at Outlaw as a cellarman. I became a brewer at Outlaw after about 3 months. Two-ish years later I became the Head Brewer at Union Hall Brewery in Downtown Bozeman. That brewery has closed, sadly. But now, after a confusing summer of driving all over the valley for part time work at 3 separate breweries, I am home at MAP as a shift brewer and having a good time!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEER?
It's ability to bring people together and put a smile on their faces.
FAVORITE BEER STYLE TO BREW:
Low gravity, low bitterness lager.
FAVORITE MAP BEER:
Margarita Gose from the Bozeman Beer Fest 4 years ago.
FAVORITE CANDY OR SNACK:
Salted Nut Roll.
